Stefan Marx is an independent publishing powerhouse, releasing many many zines over the past few years. A new catalogue has been released listing all of his releases upto 2013, so for any Marx completists this is a must have…especially as its limited. Time to start playing ‘got got need need’…

Shrigley is very good. He is not the most cerebral artist but then why does he have to be? At the moment his stock has never been higher here in the UK, with his recent prestigious Turner prize nomination. I personally thought his Hayward show wasnt all that and was MASSIVELY blow out the water by the Jeremy Deller show downstairs….but like i said Shrigley is very good, and just when i thought he was creatively spent (sculpture and naive paintings are rad but only for so many years i feel…), he drops this in Munich….a giant public shrine to Bubbles, Michael Jackson. Bizarre, totally left field, totally Shrigley and utterly fantastic.

http://www.rapha.cc/doppioDoppio
This years cycling season has already had its amazing moments (Cancellaras final hill attack at Tour of Flanders, Milan-San Remos weather…) but its just warming up with the big races to come. With perfect timing, Rapha has recently launched a little weekly 2 page PDF racing newspaper covering the week ahead. Already im hooked, but also wondering wish they would produce a broader content title than Roleur which to me seems too historic. Roleur meets monocle (whcih i think is the inspiration for Doppio) would be too much.
So before the weekend comes, bringing me overusing my new Gaggia machine and watching hooky internet mirrors of Eurosports Giro D’Italia coverage, download, read and get ready…going to be a good year :)

The Velvet Underground are one of my all time favourites. Aquarium Drunkard has put up a free zip with some tracks of the holy grail of live recordings of them at their peak…so good, so free, essential…

Amazing wood sculptor Wilfrid Wood is showing his fantastic portraits at Londons KK Outlet…but whats even more exciting (to me) is that Wilfrid is a collector of ‘outside art’ and will be using the small backroom at KK outlet to hold a mini exhibition of outsider artist John Croft…that coupled with the japanese outsider exhibition posted earlier, is one hell of a double hit in London :)
